My family and I visited the Wyeth Museum at the Brandywine River Museum of Art in Chadds Ford, PA this day as part of my watercolor art class for my grandchildren and family. It was a hot day and all were tired of the heat and also very hungry.
The children, 4 of them, were for the most part well-behaved. The youngest could not be still, he raised his voice several times, and demanded his mother’s attention. One of the waitresses became annoyed and let it be known to all the children. The 3 oldest were sensitive to her scowl and tried to ignore her.
My sister and I ordered the Tavern Wedge with a Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. The Crab Cake was delicious stuffed with Crab. The Lettuce Wedge was also very good, but there was not enough Blue Cheese dressing. All in all, a good lunch.
One of the adults ordered a plain Tavern Burger. He said it was good, and his French Fries were served in the vertical holder which made them taste even better to him. The other adult ordered the Caprese Flatbread. She shared it with her children and all were happy with it.
The children ordered Mac and Cheese which was tasty and held the attention of the child, Classic Caesar Salad with no cheese, Classic Caesar Salad with Herb Grilled Chicken, and a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with French Fries.
The Classic Caesar Salad with no cheese was a hit with the one who ordered it as well as the Classic Caesar Salad with the Herb Grilled Chicken. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich was made for the young man who thoroughly enjoyed it. He loved the French Fries as well.
The waiter who greeted us was very pleasant and helpful recommending wines and drink suggestions for the children.
Chadds Ford Tavern has a full bar and we did not have to wait to be seated.
I enjoyed my experience there and will go back when I am in the area.
I give Chadds Ford Tavern 4 plates because of the lack of patience shown by one of the waitresses.
