The Harrison House Diner is popular, though I cannot see why, in the town of Mullica Hill judging by all the cars in the lot each time I pass by.  We have also been part of the crowd before and on Feb. 3rd we joined many others for Sunday Brunch.

It is located at the intersection of the US-322 W/Mullica Hill Bypass and N. Main Street, Mullica Hill.  The interior of the Harrison House Diner has not been updated in quite some time.  The walls and ceilings show their age with unappealing colors and paintings.  It should be renovated for the customers who frequent this establishment.

Our orders ranged from a Belgian Waffle to Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken to Grilled Cheese and Tomato with Home Fries to a Plain Cheeseburger to Hamburger Sliders to my South Philly Burger all served with French Fries.

There were several things Wrong:  only two Sliders were given and there were supposed to be three, not enough syrup for the Waffle, the Grilled Cheese and Tomato had a strange tasting avocado mixture which made the whole thing almost inedible.  The Home Fries had no flavor other than the potato.  Only a few pieces looked like they were browned enough to pass for this staple diner food.

And my South Philly Burger had a liquid cheese poured over the top which dripped out each time I took a bite into the tasteless burger.  It was quite messy with chopped onion pieces that were black from overcooking as well as the few pieces of green bell pepper I could not even taste them!!  The only saving grace from my plate of food was the small amount of Cole Slaw.  It at least had a ‘normal’ amount of seasonings to make it tasty, and the French Fries were okay, though nothing more flavorful than a McDonald’s offering.

I wish I had ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken.  It was delicious according to two of the people in our party who ate and tasted it.

There were no complaints from the two Plain Hamburger and Plain Cheeseburger patrons.  Perhaps, their palettes were not mature enough to make a comparison to other better-tasting burgers.

Evidently, the other patrons of the Harrison House Diner were satisfied with the mediocre food served to them.  I will not rush to go back there.  The only reason I go at all is that of its proximity to my familiar places.

I give the Harrison House Diner   2 and 1/2 plates.
