It was my birthday and I wanted to go back to the Chianti Italian Restaurant in Mullica Hill.  My family of twelve joined me.  We had been there previously for celebrations of First Communion lunches, Baptisms, and Birthdays.  These had all been held in the back of the restaurant in a separate room.

The problem with the room is that they will book more than one party in the narrow space, and it gets pretty loud.  At times it can be quite annoying to listen to a stranger’s conversation or to have to talk loudly to someone sitting across the table from you.  Nevertheless, the food has always been pretty good.

This time we were seated along the dividing wall separating the bar/kitchen area from the tables and booths along the outer wall.  We were seated in rows along both sides of a long table.  The side next to the dividing wall had a padded bench which ran the length of the wall which provided a great place for the children to sit, slide, and crawl over one another.

Our orders ranged from Veal Saltimbocca to Zuppa Di Pesce.  The children had Spaghetti with Meatballs and plain Spaghetti with butter.  They enjoyed their meals along with the Soup of the Day (I believe it was cream based).

The Zuppa Di Pesce was served lukewarm.  I would have liked it better if it had been served as soon as it was prepared.  Although there was plenty of Seafood:  Shrimp, Mussels, Clams, and Calamari, there was not enough flavor.  I had ordered this previously with a white sauce, and it was marvelous with perfect seasonings.

This time it did not taste the same.  I was disappointed and brought home leftovers.  They tasted a lot better once I had seasoned it with more salt, garlic, and Italian seasoning.

My husband ordered the Veal Milanese which he enjoyed it immensely.  The veal patties were large and more than enough for one person.  Other adults ordered Salads and different Kinds of pasta.  There were not any complaints from anyone about their dishes.

Our waitress was friendly and willing to help.  She provided suggestions for the children and catered to their wishes.

There are a full bar and soda products available as well as cappuccino and Espresso.

Based on my previous experiences with Chianti and this dinner I would give it 4 plates.
