My husband and I went to the Pegasus Diner on New Year’s Day. We thought there would be only a few people there. Instead, the Diner was practically full. We were given a table in the back room next to a door which opened to a forward dining area. There was quite a bit of traffic going in and out from the wait staff and customers which made it inconvenient for me to push my chair away from the table.
Our waitress was quite busy with other customers so she took a while to take our order. We weren’t sure of the Daily Specials, we never are, but we both decided to try the 6 Lamb Chops over Mashed Potatoes with Steamed Broccoli and freshly cut and fried Onion Strings. It was served with an Aus Jus Sauce and Mint Jelly. Neither of us expected it to be as good as it was. The chops were cooked to a medium temperature (we were not asked how we wanted them done – medium rare) and they were so tender!!
This was a great surprise! The potatoes had a garlic taste which enhanced their flavor, and the just fried spirally onions were delicious. The broccoli was not well done though, so we just ate the florets.
Truthfully, we have not had a bad tasting entree yet, from the Pegasus Diner and this meal puts their Lamb Chops at the top of our list of must-orders from them.
