Olive Garden
1500 N Almonesson Rd Deptford, NJ 08096 (856) 232-6332
The Olive Garden in Deptford is always crowded. We arrived by 5:45 pm in an effort to beat the crowd, but there was already a 30 minute wait. The hostess handed me a buzzer, and I told her we would wait in the bar area. Good choice. She had also handed me a rectangular flyer for half off wine while we wait in the bar area.
While waiting a nice young waitress came over to ask if we would like to dine at this table to which we answered, ‘Yes’. It was a sure way to be served right away.
Our waiter, Corey, was very polite, professional, and willing to please. He said we could redeem the coupon at the bar area, so over we went only to be told by the bartender that if we surrendered our buzzer, the drinks were no longer half price. Needless to say, we paid full price, $8.00, for a glass of pinot grigio – a bit expensive for a not-so-good wine.
He did apologize for his misunderstanding, and took our order. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi with angel hair sprinkled with Asparagus pieces and fresh chopped Tomatoes. It was Delicious.
My husband ordered the Stuffed Chicken Marsala with Fettuccine Alfredo, and he enjoyed it immensely. Another dish was the Spicy Fried Shrimp Appetizer for which my sister stated was Delicious as well.
Salad and bread sticks were also served for all of us. They were very good also, and the waiter did not mind replenishing the salad bowl.
Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience except for the crowded bar and conversations all around us.
It deserves 4 plates because of the good food AND the courteous waiter.
