Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House
Bar–Restaurant–Raw Bar
8600 Landis Ave.
Sea Isle City, NJ 08243
Our reservation was for 12 people and we were seated almost as soon as we arrived. The outside of the restaurant has awnings with the name clearly printed, but we did not know the front door led to stairs leading up to the full bar and restaurant, so we walked around the building to the right only to see the back door.
Once we opened the doors we could hear people talking, so we made our way up the stairs to the hostess. She was polite and eventually showed us to our table. The noise of the bar did not disturb us though we were only a small separating wall away.
Our waitress was most kind, patient, and accommodating. She took our drink orders and waited patiently for the children to decide on theirs. All the drinks were delicious and were promptly served, but a tad expensive.
We ordered appetizers which ranged from Fresh Oysters on the half shell of four varieties and Clams on the Half Shell to Pork Potstickers. All were fresh-tasting, without grit of broken shell pieces, separated from the shell, and DELICIOUS!
The children enjoyed their usual fare of burgers and fries or grilled cheese. I ordered the Doc’s Fried Combo served over french fries with Doc’s House Salad. The shrimp, scallops, and crab cake had a wonderful taste and left me craving more. Everyone enjoyed their meals, including my husband who ordered the Braised Boneless Short Rib. It was very tender and easy to eat.
We will definitely go back the next time we are near Sea Isle City.
